DoCoMo SH705ill hits Japan

Japanese will be able to enjoy the DoCoMo SH705iII clamshell handset as it was recently unveiled in Japan, bringing Sharp's trademarked 'Triple Kukkiri (Clear) Talk' technology trio. These three technologies are Noise Reduction Function, Enhancement Function and Echo Cancellation Function that ultimately aims to make your conversation clearer. Additional features found on the handset include :-

• Face recognition and auto focus
• Bluetooth connectivity
• e-wallet support
• microSD memory card slot
• One-seg TV support

NTT DoCoMo gets "Sharp" with Aquos SH905iTV

NTT DoCoMo has announced the Sharp Aquos SH905iTV is being added to their handset collection. The SH905iTV is the first cellphone to support Dolby Mobile standard, which offers an enhanced audio experience for mobile TV watching. The SH905iTV features a 3.2" 480 x 854 display, and a fully featured 3.2 MP camera, which offers an impressive collection of tools, such as 6 axial hand blurring and subject blurring correction, for keeping the pictures smooth. As you can tell from the TV in the model name, the device will also feature 1-Seg support.

Sharp to launch AQUOS 822SH

Sharp is prepping for the launch of their AQUOS 822SH device in Japan. The new AQUOS branded device will weigh 120 g, offering 1-Seg support for mobile TV, and built with what sounds like a sturdy aluminum body.

The 822SH will be available in light blue, white silver, black, gold and pink for Japan only on December 15th. Would love to see some sort of 1-Seg access in the states eventually.


Sharp SH-920 Aquos cellphone

Sharp has just launched its SH-920 Aquos cellphone that shares the same LCD technology as found in the range of Sharp Aquos LCD TVs. This handset comes with a large 3.2" display that boasts a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a contrast ratio of 2,000 to 1, and support for up to an amazing 26 million colors - that's a whole lot more than your eye could ever make out on such a small display. Not only that, you will be able to watch movies and TV shows in widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio thanks to the integrated 1Seg tuner. Other features include an SD/MMC memory card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA support, IR and GSM support. This will be a Japan only handset so don't bother importing one over Stateside.

Sharp W-Zero3 smartphone

Sharp's new W-Zero3 smartphone is rather weird looking, as though it was the bastard child between a PDA and standard handset. When closed, it resembles a candybar phone, while sliding it open will reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, showing off its smartphone class. It features WiFi connectivity, an integrated Web browser, Microsoft Office Mobile to keep you productive on the go, the unique ability to read business cards simply by capturing an image with its 1.3 megapixel camera - all these are running on a Windows Mobile 6 platform. The Sharp W-Zero3 is available in Japan only, so if you want one you'll have to move there.

Sharp launches 880SH in Germany

Our German friends will be happy to note that Sharp has unleashed the 880SH cellphone that looks somewhat like a Samsung. It comes with a generous 2.2" QVGA LCD display, an integrated FM radio, speedy HSDPA support, a built-in music player, and a 2 megapixel camera which is pretty much the standard for what most mid-range handsets have. The front portion looks pretty neat with just navigation buttons and Accept/Reject buttons. No word on when this slider device will be made available on Vodafone Germany though, and neither do we have any idea on what pricing details are.

Sharp releases Fullface 913SH

Sharp has released the Fullface 913SH slider cellphone in Japan, and you can pick it up from Softbank Mobile. It would be nice to see such handsets being released Stateside, but unfortunately the 913SH won't make it to our shores anytime soon. Features are pretty spiffy - HSDPA and Bluetooth A2DP connectivity, a huge 2.8" QVGA 262k color display, a 2 megapixel camera, and an SD memory card slot that can handle SD cards up to 2GB in size. For the indecisive, fret not. The Fullface 913SH wll come in vivid pink, black, silver, pink, green, light blue, orange, and gold colors.

Sharp W-ZERO 3 receives upgrade

Sharp has decided that it is time to mature the WillCOM W-ZERO 3 smartphone further by throwing in some new refinements, where the handset will now be known as the W-ZERO 3 Advance. What you get is a slimmer form factor at 17.9mm and a spanking new 3" LCD display at 480 x 800 resolution. Some people might think this looks like the HTC Vox, and they aren't too far from the truth. The W-ZERO 3 Advance runs on Windows Mobile Classic and comes with a numeric keypad, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and a mini USB port for you to hook up external GPS or Bluetooth modules if you wish. Pricing and availability details are unknown.

Sharp FOMA SH904i launched

NTT DoCoMo has recently launched the Sharp FOMA SH904i which runs on Symbian OS and the MOAP platform. This clamshell handset is extremely rectangular in design - something that is either hit or miss with the masses. Complementing the 3" widescreen display is a touchpad function that gives the SH904i a similar 'operational feel to that of a computer. There is no word on pricing, but my envy of the Japanese and Koreans sure knows no bounds after seeing the kinds of handsets they get.

Sharp SH903i released

Sharp has released its latest multimedia cellphone, the SH903i that comes with all the bells and whistles often associated with a handset of its caliber. The SH903i features a 2.8" LCD display, a lovely 3 megapixel camera, a secondary VGA camera for video calling, an SD memory card slot, and a battery life that offers up to 50 hours of non-stop music playback. Your privacy is also maintained with a screen filter that prevents onlookers from letting their eyes wander where they shouldn't. There is no word on pricing, but chances are we won't see this handset arrive Stateside as it remains a Japan exclusive.

EM ONE from eMobile

eMobile has entered the Japanese cellphone market, heralding its debut by rolling out a data-only HSDPA service which will begin this March and subsequently grow to include a voice element next year. The Sharp EM ONE will be the only device on offer at this moment, running on Windows Mobile 5.0 and sporting Bluetooth 1.2 and WiFi connectivity, OneSeg digital TV support, a 4.1" widescreen VGA display, and a sliding keyboard that slides in two directions to reveal either a QWERTY keyboard or directional keys. The service runs at $50 per month. You can pick up the EM ONE as a separate entity for $788 or sell your soul for one or two years ($590 and $330 respectively).
