Blackberry Javelin Spotted

It’s been said that RIM’s Javelin is a new Blackberry which is completely lacking 3G, and is currently on track for a mid-2009 launch. It doesn’t seem very logical, though at the very least it seems to look quite pretty in these shots of an engineering dummy. More models of Blackberry's in the market can only be good for consumer in terms of choices.

The Javelin is rumored to have a high-end 2.5G design, as well as WiFi, GPS, expansive display and a 3.2 megapixel

camera. It remains to be seen how well this phone will do in the current market.

Garmin Nuvifone to be available in White

Pictures of a white colored Nuvifone are appearing online. Unfortunately, there isn’t any confirmation as to whether these pictures are legit or not. Garmin themselves just show a black version of its phone, which is slated for a Q3 launch at a purported price of $500. Hopefully this means that there will be more choice in terms of colors at least, for the end users.

Sony Ericsson Launches New Bluetooth Headsets

Sony Ericsson rounded up their day with a couple of colorful Bluetooth headsets. The HBH-PV715, HBH-PV720 and HBH-PV740 are available in a variety of colors and patterns, as boast at least 10-hours of talk time, and 700-hours of standby time, as well as DSP / automatic volume adjustment.

These headsets are aimed at the value-driven, fashion-conscious and business-oriented consumers respectively. As with the phones mentioned today, there isn’t any mention about the price, though they’re slated to be available in “select markets” in Q4 this year.

Competitors can now use Bubbles to represent O2

Reports are coming through that O2 has lost its appeal to prevent a competitor using bubbles to represent the company when comparing prices.

This all started back in 2004 when a 3UK TV ad compared prices between O2 and themselves, which is perfectly fine. The problem is that the advertisement started with “falling bubbles”, which is a reference to O2 branding. O2 had argues that its brand was being misused, and took it to the European Court to prevent anybody else trying to pull that off again, but they failed.

So it seems like there is a nothing to stop competitors from using the bubbles to represent O2 when doing a price comparison anybody. O2 certainly won’t be too happy with that ruling.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX Users Getting and Update

T-Mobile has announced an update for Sidekick LX owners. This latest update, which is promised to the existing LX users will include video recording, spell checker, play and share capabilities, an alarm clock, stereo Bluetooth with A2DP support, Bluetooth file transfer support and more.

This over-the –air (OTA) update will be rolled out sometime this week, so LX users should be happily prepared to receive it.

Nokia Completes Trolltech Acquisition

After getting approval by the European Commision, Nokia has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Trolltech.

Nokia will be getting both the technology (software assets) and the staff, who will “play an important role in accelerating the implementation of Nokia's software strategy." They will be looking to accelerate the cross-platform software strategy for mobile devices and desktop applications, as well as develop Internet services business.

Oslo Stock Exchange will delist Trolltech ASA on June 17th 2008 (Today).
